BirdFrame overview
- After a bird trip you come home with thousands of frames where the bird is a speck. BirdFrame crops them all in one go.
- Point it at an Apple Photos album or a folder (JPEG, HEIC, and RAW: CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, ORF, RAF, RW2, DNG). It finds
- every bird, even small, distant or half-hidden ones, and crops each one in the framing you choose: Tight, Balanced or
- Wide. Crops are made from the full-size original, so you keep full resolution, with no upscaling and nothing generated.
- Edits in Photos are reversible, and folder exports never touch your originals.
What's new in version 1.2
- RAW photos: choose a folder of CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, ORF, RAF, RW2 or DNG files. RAW+JPEG pairs count as one photo.
- One crop per bird: birds near the edge of a section of the photo are no longer split into several partial crops, and the same photos always give the same results.
- Faster on large photos.
- For iNaturalist: tick it when you export to get tight crops named by date, ready to upload.
- Crops keep the photo's date, camera and location. Turn location off in Settings to protect a nest site.
- Share Find: a card showing the whole photo and the bird you found.
- Redeem Code: enter a BirdFrame offer code in Settings → Purchases.
- Clearer messages and better VoiceOver support.
